Risk Disclosure
Investing in independent film — including classics, silent cinema, Golden Age, cult, international, horror, science fiction, documentary, and independent restorations — involves substantial risk, including the total loss of your investment. The following is a summary of material risks and is not exhaustive. This page is a stub and will be replaced with full disclosure language before any offering goes live.
- Loss of principal. Most independent films do not recoup their budget. You may lose your entire investment.
- Illiquidity. Fractional film equity is not publicly traded. There is no resale market.
- Long horizons. Distribution, collections, and statements typically span 3–7 years.
- Catalog concentration. Planet Legends invests only in legacy cinema — silent, Golden Age, cult, international, horror, science fiction, documentary, and independent restorations. Repertory cycles, rights disputes, and platform policies can compound losses.
- Restoration risk. Surviving elements may be incomplete, damaged, or unrecoverable, and lab work can run over budget or fail to deliver a finished restoration.
- No SIPC / FDIC protection.
